WIH Give Back Program FAQs

What if I am interested but not sure about potential roles as a volunteer?
We believe any HBA member can be a valuable addition to the effort. After you sign up, our global or regional leaders will help you to find roles based on your interests, skills, and preferences. It takes courage to sign up. We would like to support you to find joy and purpose in your development journey.

What skills and experiences are needed to volunteer?
Any HBA member is welcome! Diversity in background, skills, and experiences will help our collective efforts to be exceedingly successful. Your team will support you if you would like to learn new skills in communications, marketing, project management, team management, business development, etc.

What will a typical virtual event look like?
There is flexibility in terms of virtual event format and length. You can work with your team to design the event based on alignment with local non-profit(s) or a panel of experts. We will provide more details to volunteer leaders in Q1 2022. 

What is the sign-up period?
Registration is open now and will continue in 2022. We encourage you to sign up early so that you can receive more benefits and have more impact, especially as team slots begin to fill. 

How much does it cost to sign up?
The program is FREE for any HBA member. There is a nominal $5 fee to cover HBA administrative costs when you sign up.

What if I’m not an HBA member but would like to get involved?
The more advocates who can champion with us, the better! We encourage you to visit our HBA Membership page for more information on how to join the HBA, and invite you to join our LinkedIn group to stay abreast of program developments and how you can help.
